Sweetwater Energy
Work: Branding, web design, web development, illustration, collateral
A biofuels company, Sweetwater Energy is dedicated to creating sustainable energy to take the place of oil. An entire brand and website refresh was done to help appeal to a wider variety of customers and investors.
Logo
The first step of the rebrand was a new logo. The same concept of a stream flowing was kept, but the overall shape turned into a leaf, since most of the energy produced by the company comes from feedstock and plant matter. The four colors represent the four materials found inside plant matter – lignin (brown), cellulose (light green), hemicellulose (green), and water (blue.
Website
The primary goal of the website was to establish an online identity and help people understand what exactly the company does. Sweetwater uses a very complex and scientific process, so figuring out how to make it easily understandable was key. A large splash page was created which follows the process of logs and plant matter into a factory, then the excess taken to Sweetwater’s factory, and from there into places that would otherwise use oil. Below that explains what materials are inside plants and how they can be useful.
Diagrams and Icons
Icons were created for the handful of products the company provides. Diagrams were also created to help explain processes on the website and in collateral materials, like presentation decks.
Presentation Decks
Powerpoint decks used for investors and employee training models were created showcasing the brand.
