One of my favorite apparel companies, Bird Collective specializes in all things birds, with a portion of profits donated to help our feathered friends.
I’ve done several collaborations with them, creating the popular woodpecker collection and contributing to the birds of prey collection.
The Woodpecker Collection
Artwork created for the woodpecker collection, consisting of ten of the most popular North American woodpeckers. This provided a unique challenge - four colors maximum, and the Bird Collective team wanted to include as many as possible, but not in the typical composition of species floating on top of each other with their name underneath. I settled in on a geometric layout with the birds fitting together in 45 and 90 degree angles, with branches framing the piece. This artwork had to be reworked for all of the different products offered, from a bandana design to mugs and differently colored shirts.
The Birds of Prey Collection
Included in their Birds of Prey collection in collaboration with one of my favorite organizations, HawkWatch International, the osprey is the master of the waterways, as one of the most efficient hunters in the animal kingdom. This design was applied to two different shirt styles.
